Gardening

We decided to make a garden this year.  Well actually we didn't decide but more or less forced.  Ever since the tornado last year our side yard has been really choppy and hard to cut with the lawn mower so Jamie decided to get his dad to disk the whole thing up.  So, we had a huge mud pile on the side of our house.  We decided to plant grass in the front and vegetables in the back.  We have planted tomatoes, okra, corn, green beans, lima beans, squash.  Hopefully they will all grow and we will be able to have some fresh veggies this summer.  Here are some pictures of Keaton helping Jamie water the "crops".

We had a great Easter spending it with the family.  My grandmother made both Layni and Embree's dresses and Keaton's shorts.  We didn't hardly get any pictures because there was never a good time to do it with eating, naps, and then kool-aide being spilt on Keaton's outfit.  But here are a few of the ones that I did try to get and all I can say it poor Embree!

I don't know if you other mom have dealt with this -- and it has gotten better in the past couple of weeks. But every day when we get Keaton home, if he can't go outside right that second he just falls out on the floor.  He gets so upset.  As soon as we open the door to go outside, he is totally fine.  It's crazy!!  So, we have been spending a lot of time outside and he has picked up quite a few things.  One thing he absolutely loves to do is play with bubbles.  So, we bought him a bubble gun for Easter (which has since been broken).

I feel like I never update on Embree.  So here is a paragraph dedicated to her.  She  is starting to be much more active and she is totally aware of Keaton.  She laughs at him all the time.  She laughs so hard when Jamie throws a ball at her face so you know she's a Reeves.  She starting to eat baby food and would rather suck her thumb then her paci.  We are already stressing about that now.

Hope you enjoyed the update

Spur-of-the-moment

I decided to blog to keep everyone up to date with what's going on with the Reeves' and to keep up with all these pictures that I take of my children.   Jamie thinks it's a horrible idea but I'm including him anyways. I hope you enjoy keeping up with our crazy life.

The house we bought had all original hardwood floors in the bedrooms.  They covered it up with carpet in the back part of the house.  So, we have slowly started ripping up the carpet.  We first started with the hallway. This weekend Jamie and I decided, spur-of-the-moment, at 7:30 a.m. that we would move all of our furniture out of our bedroom and refinish our wooden floors.  We rented a sander around 10:00 and Jamie started the long process of sanding the floors.

After we started sanding and Keaton kept screaming because he wanted to be in the room with his daddy (he's a total daddy's boy)  we decided that we probably should send him off to the grandparents.  Nana to the rescue!!  But not until we went to Layni's birthday party (Layni is my sister's daughter).  Her birthday party was Saturday and it was a bring your own riding toy party.   We had bought Keaton a small motorized riding toy that you operate with your thumb for his birthday last year and brought that with us to her party.   He wanted nothing to do with that.  Instead he wanted to ride in my sisters' niece's mustang convertible.  He wouldn't get out of it.  He wouldn't play with anything else.  And it wasn't his.  He was determined to be in that car at all times.  Needlesstosay, Keaton had to leave the party early due to the fact that he pushed another girl who was trying to ride in the car as well.

After,  During the party, we took Keaton to his Nana's..  After we ate, Jamie and I left and he spent the night (thank goodness) so that we could work on the floors at home.  While we are working on the floors we had to move our bed into the living room to sleep.  When Nana got home the next day he was so excited to sit on our bed in the living room and watch Mickey Mouse.

Jamie and I had been talking for a while that we wanted to get Keaton a riding toy for his birthday which is in July.   But after his total meltdown at the party we decided that we really wanted to go ahead and get him one.   He loves being outside to the point where he throws a massive fit every day when he can't.  He always wants to go riding on the lawn mower.  He will actually just sit there and pretend most of the time but you have to stand right there with him because he can fall off.   So, we really wanted a riding toy that maybe we can catch a break and actually enjoy sitting outside with him instead of him crying or screaming to get on the lawn mower.  So while Jamie's parents were there , we decided spur-of-the-moment to go ahead and buy him his riding toy for his birthday.   So we all loaded up to wal-mart and went and got him a Ford F-150 Raptor.  It has a radio and everything.   But he can't even reach the pedals unless he stands up.  But it does what we wanted it to do -- It keeps him occupied and happy.  HE LOVES IT!!!

He insists that Embree sit with him in his new truck and he always makes sure that she is buckled up.  We recently took the paci away from Keaton but every once in a while he will steal Embree's and go hide.  He thinks it is so funny.

We also had another niece born this weekend!  Mae Reeves Logan.  She is super cute with a head full of hair.  I spent the day up there with them Monday.  Here are pictures of the two big sisters.

It was a crazy eventful weekend and we are still feeling the effects of it, but we made it through.
